Help us to Feed the Needy Blind

Help us to Feed the Needy Blind

Story

Maa and Papa weren’t the happiest when I was born. They thought I was a burden to them. My villagers said I had brought bad luck to the family. They thought I’ll never amount to anything because I was not only a girl but also born blind. I wanted to prove them wrong. But I needed help. I felt hopeless. Blind Welfare Society (BWS) helped me believe in myself and gave me a safe space to chase my dreams. Today I have a successful banking career,” says Ritu Kumari, a former resident of BWS.

BWS is a beacon of hope for those unfortunate visually impaired girls belonging from poorest of poor families. “We are strive to improve the quality of life for visually challenged girls through education, employment, and free accommodation. Most of these girls come from families whose incomes fall below the poverty line. We provide shelter, nutritious food, and free medical care at our hostel. These visually impaired girls also need training and mentoring to meet their academic goals as well as job-seeking support once they graduate”, Dheeraj Bhola, Founder of Blind Welfare Society.

But with dwindling funds and donations, Dheeraj struggles to give them better facilities. They often fall short of groceries. Dheeraj wants to change all of that. “These girls come from underprivileged families from Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. They have no support from their parents yet they want to study further, get a Government Service. Their determination gives me a new purpose. I am so happy to be able to work for them,” – Dheeraj, Founder, Blind Welfare Society.

Despite facing discrimination and suffering from his disability, this brave man has refused to be bogged down by societal pressure. He is working tirelessly for several young visually impaired girls and educating more and more people for their higher education. These girls dream f a better future, you can make that happen.

Dheeraj wants to create a world where no one will be discriminated against based on their disabilities. He is a burning example for all these girls who want a better life for themselves. Over the years, these girls have secured government employment at Public Sector Banks, Staff Selection Commission, Education Sector and other departments. Many have started their own families. Dheeraj wishes to build Blind Welfare Society a better place for many more visually challenged girls where they can stay safe and fulfill their dreams. But that won’t be possible without your help.
