Madhuri hails from a small village of Aligarh district, Uttar Pardesh and completely blind since her birth. She completed her schooling from Rashtriya Virja Nand Andh Kanya Senior Secondary School, Vikas Puri, Delhi. Aspiring to pursue higher studies, she sought admission in our hostel in 2023. Strong willed as she is, in spite of several rejections and challenges, she gained admission in Daulat Ram College of Delhi University. She is now happily pursuing graduation in Arts. Blind Welfare Society has been extending all kinds of support to help her realize her dreams.

Madhuri is very vocal on vision impairment, the stigmas surrounding disability and the formidable challenge of inaccessibility. She says, “Just because a person has vision impairment or another disability, it does not mean that they cannot live an independent and fulfilling life. I hope to continue to share my experiences of living with a disability, educate people and tackle the misconceptions surrounding sight loss, as well as help others in any way I can. ”
